From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in power within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the main group to undertake their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear out of place, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could assist the team access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them few options but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Planners parties.
